As Easter approaches, for all of us who delight in creating beautiful gatherings there is a palpable buzz of anticipation. Knowing there are opportunities to enjoy the company of your favourite people, create joyful moments for the children and dress beautiful tables is a delightful feeling, but add in spring sunshine, an unsurpassed sense of renewal, the appearance, once more, of blooming flowers and we’re in heaven.
We’ve already discussed our Easter table must-haves (hello beautiful table linen and place settings) and today we’ve curated five delicious recipes you will definitely want to make this Easter. Traditionally a time of indulgence and delight (who remembers last year's grazing plate?), Easter sees a plethora of delicious treats and culinary delights often forming family traditions. From hot cross buns and chocolate eggs to springtime favourites like roast lamb and fresh produce, but we’re adding some new recipes into the mix. Leek, Pancetta and Ricotta Tart
While Sunday is the family roast day, on Easter Saturday our friends all gather for a morning walk followed by brunch. The table heaves under everyone’s offerings and there’s a real sense of conviviality. This year we’re bringing this delicious tart to the table!
Hasselback Harissa Roasted Butternut Squash
Any recipe which mixes sweet, spicy harissa with salty feta gets our seal of approval but this hasselback roasted squash really is something special! Easy to make yet looks absolutely stunning as a centrepiece, your guests will be delighted when this middle-eastern dish is served up.
Braised Leg of Lamb with Mint, Parsley & Almond Pesto
Perhaps the most traditional of all Easter dishes, we couldn’t curate recipes for the weekend without including Sunday-favourite roast lamb. By braising the lamb you can be a little more relaxed on the timings and enjoy all your favourite people in once place, gathered around a beautiful table.
Hot Cross Bun Bread & Butter Pudding
It isn’t Easter without some hot cross buns and with a multitude of flavours now available you can pick your favourite and work them into this delicious recipe by Taming Twins - we tried it with blueberry and vanilla and it was divine! What we love most about this Easter twist on a British classic is its made in the slow cooker, perfect for preparing early and forgetting all about!
Creme Egg Traybake
This recipe is in honour of our founder, Amy, who loves Creme Eggs almost as much as she loves Lodden, and that’s a lot. A delicious chocolate cake topped with buttercream and creme eggs, we love making this recipe with the children on Good Friday morning. It keeps beautifully in an air tight container so is perfect for drop in guests who are always delighted when offered a piece.
