A Flourishing Easter Table
Nothing beats the energy and joy that is felt in springtime and this year we’re channeling that in our flourishing Easter table styling. While we were hopeful for an outdoor soiree, the British weather looks set to be as predictable as ever and, quite literally, rain on our parade, so we’ve created a joyful indoor table which really celebrates the light and charm of spring and Easter instead.
As always, we believe a beautiful maximalist tablescape goes hand in hand with an abundant Easter following the self-discipline of Lent, so there is little in the way of pared back styling here. Lovely Liberty table linen meets nature’s blooms and final flourishes and the result is delightfully seasonal and cheery. Your capsule collection of favourite serving platters, glasses, bud vases and candlesticks will be put to excellent use and it’s always lovely to be surrounded by treasured pieces, so absolutely use them, if not everyday, then definitely today!
LOVELY LIBERTY TABLE LINEN
Of course, the basis to any wonderful, flourishing Easter table is the table linen. An informal, joyful mood is created with laid back layered Liberty print table linen and here the beryl blue tones feel fresh and sunny. On our table, the Gathered Edge Liberty Fabric Tablecloth in Wiltshire Lilac is layered with Reversible Wavy Edge Placemats in the beautiful blue floral print, Felicite and delicate Bow Napkins.
While white crockery can feel timeless and classic there’s something fun and charming about coloured plates layered atop luxury Liberty fabrics. We’ve used our favourite pastel coloured crockery with scalloped edges for a gentle nod to the egg shapes which take centre stage at Easter.
ABUNDANT NATURE
No season lends itself to adding nature to your table as well as spring. We’re blessed with an abundance of seasonal blooms, from potted hyacinth bulbs and freshly snipped narcissi to anemones and, my personal favourite, ranunculus. We’ve layered mixed small stems in coloured bud bases with potted bulbs for variety and interest. Foraged branches adorned with eggs and easter decorations can also make a stunning centrepiece. With Easter falling late in April this year magnolia branches will sadly be past their best, but you may still find some delicate blossom branches which look enchanting and impactful in a large vase.
ADD THE FLOURISHES
Every setting should have a little personalised detail or charismatic touch. A handwritten place name alongside our napkins feels thoughtful and adds some homemade charm, while a mini egg topped cupcake is fun and treat-like.
For a real celebratory feeling, bunting will never fail to make your Easter guests smile. If you have high ceilings, string it across the room to make for a cosier atmosphere, while we also love our sustainable streamer bunting in prints complementary to the table linen swagged along walls.
