The Resolution Revolt

With January usually comes an infectious positivity, an unspoken motivation and an opportunity for re-evaluation which naturally leads to us considering what the year ahead looks like and how we can make it better than the one before. For far too long this is where new year’s resolutions have come in. An almost audible sigh can be heard at the very mention of them, so why, in 2021 are so many people still making them? I’m here to stage a resolution revolt and give you an idea for how to channel that positive January mindset into something far more important.

Make Your Own Foraged Christmas Wreath

There’s nothing more we love at this time of year than twinkling lights in windows and doors adorned with beautiful Christmas wreaths. We particularly love the homemade efforts, all individual and reflective of the personality behind it. This year, we’ve teamed up with Laura from Boho Bea Flowers to give you a step by step guide to creating your very own sustainable Christmas wreath using foliage foraged from gardens. This is a perfect weekend activity which we know our creative customers will love and by making your wreath at this point in December you can be sure it’ll see you through Christmas with Laura’s top tips. What’s more, the wreaths also make amazing table centrepieces, so if you really do fall in love with wreath making for your front door you can make another for your festive table!

Our Favourite Seasonal Traditions

This time of year evokes such feeling of nostalgia and joy and so much a part of that is due to the seasonal traditions we uphold. Some passed down through generations and others created in more recent times but all held close to our hearts and full of Christmas spirit. The countdown to the big day is made all the more magical thanks to these memories, and nothing warms the heart quite like hearing about the moments which bring others joy, so today we’re sharing our team’s favourite seasonal, timeless traditions and encouraging you to share yours too. You may even discover some new yuletide rituals you would like to incorporate into your own family’s traditions. We personally love the simple, slow traditions which offer a little escape from the most wonderful, but often exhausting, time of the year.

Introducing Coco & Wolf’s latest collaboration, Maison Floralia. William Morris famously once said, “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful”, and this is something we know our wonderful customers live by when curating their homes. Maison Floralia’s personalised pieces are a stunning work of art, and whilst utterly charming on their own are also a the perfect companion to the Liberty fabric florals of Coco & Wolf’s products.

Stir-up Sunday with Coco & Wolf

Sunday 22nd November 2020 is Stir-up Sunday, a tradition which harks from Victorian times when loved ones would gather together, five weeks before Christmas, to make the Christmas pudding and each stir in a wish. Whilst we may not be able to gather all of our loved ones this year, use this opportunity to stir in wishes for a time when we can all be together again.

By the time Christmas Eve arrives excitement levels are peaking, the bubbles are flowing and, if you’re one of the more organised amongst us, then the potatoes may even be peeled. Alongside this excitement, the night before Christmas is the time to add the final festive flourish to our homes and uphold one of the most cherished traditions of all time; hanging up the stockings.

There’s no denying it, the world around us feels uncertain at the moment but if this year has taught us anything it’s to appreciate the small things. I’ve definitely found the change in seasons comforting; gone is the need to be endlessly productive and in its place is a quiet acceptance of hunkering down and enjoying time at home. Autumn is the perfect time for creating cosy ahead of the winter chill and the latest lockdown’s slower pace of life provides a great opportunity to not only create seasonal comfort in our homes but enjoy it, too.

Five Minutes with Interior Stylist, Emily Rickard

One of the best parts of Coco & Wolf is getting to work with some of the design industry's greats. From buyers with an eye for the best, most covetable pieces, through to photographers and stylists who know how to showcase our products and capture them effortlessly. We've been working with interior stylist, Emily Rickard to showcase each season's new collection since 2018 and with each collection the design she creates just gets better and better. As she is so incredibly talented and interesting it felt only right that to coincide with the launch of our latest collection, we introduce you to Emily, a fundamental part of the Coco & Wolf family.

New Products, Future Heirlooms

Coco & Wolf is absolutely not a throwaway brand and, as such, we don't have an influx of new product types every few weeks. Instead, we focus our time on designing pieces to be loved, cherished and handed down and making them to last. As seasons come and go new Liberty fabrics are used on our timeless designs which is always a pleasure. Then, every so often, we bring to life something entirely new, something designed and created in house and, most importantly, something which we think our beloved customers almost definitely can't be without. Only this isn’t a discovery of Narnia, but one of the magical world of Coco & Wolf and our luxury, Liberty fabric products.
