So where did cottagecore come from, what exactly is it and how can Coco & Wolf pieces work amongst it?

Remember the time circa 2014 when the only colours to decorate your home were black, white and grey? This monochromatic scheme took the world, our homes and Pinterest by storm but, much to our delight, colour has since had a revival. Playful colour palettes now come in many guises and while the age of black, white and grey is behind us, monochromatic design is far from over. You see coming up with colour combinations is one thing, but there’s a transformative, striking and fun effect to be had from taking your scheme back to one colour, with tonal nuances and lots of textures.

This June, Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her 70 years on the throne with the much anticipated, Platinum Jubilee. The official Jubilee weekend takes place from 2nd June to 5th June, seeing Great Britain and the commonwealth celebrating Britain’s longest-reigning monarch across four days. Alongside celebratory street parties taking part all over the country, and jubilant picnics in gardens and parks, there are also a whole range of official events in London over the four day weekend as part of this year’s Jubilee celebrations and we’re sharing the run down so you can get organised!

This year’s Platinum Jubilee marks seventy years since Queen Elizabeth II came to throne. It’s hard to transport your imagination back to 1952; a time when the world wide web hadn’t yet been invented, decimalisation was still almost twenty years away and Concorde’s first flight sounded like a film. Of course, during those seventy years, Liberty have continued to be pioneers of fabric and print development, and throughout her majesty’s long and triumphant reign Liberty have produced prints which truly stand the test of time. The 1950s was an incredible, ground breaking time for Liberty’s print development and today we’re looking back at some of the post-war era’s beautiful designs, and Liberty’s development’s of them.

Nothing beats the energy and joy that is felt in springtime and this year we’re channeling that in our flourishing Easter table styling. While we were hopeful for an outdoor soiree, the British weather looks set to be as predictable as ever and, quite literally, rain on our parade, so we’ve created a joyful indoor table which really celebrates the light and charm of spring and Easter instead.
Many of our favourite Liberty fabrics are a exuberant display of layered florals and this provides us with an abundance of inspiration. In fact, the art of layering has become intrinsic to Coco & Wolf, with our curation of seasonal fabrics centred around how they work together when layered. But how else can these layered floral designs inspire us in our homes?
Imagine Easter. What comes into your mind? A beautiful, uplifting time. Spring blooms. Family celebrations. Chicks, lambs and bunnies a plenty. Baskets laden with chocolate… Lots and lots of chocolate. Today we’re sharing with you one of our favourite Easter bakes - mini egg cupcakes. They’re super simple to make and the pastel coloured icing with mini eggs sitting proud on top make them irresistible for adults and children alike. Perfect for Easter elevenses, the base is a gorgeous, moist chocolate cake which I think is often tricky to get right, but this is reminiscent of a chocolate sponge cake my granny used to make and definitely hits the spot!
