A day out with the RHS

A day out with the RHS - Coco & Wolf

We are beyond excited for a trip to this year’s Chelsea Flower Show later this month. One of the most hotly anticipated events of the horticultural calendar, RHS Chelsea Flower Show is a hive of amazing garden designs, inspiring take-home ideas and glorious blooms. It promises to be a wonderful day out and who knows, we may even come away with inspiration for next Spring Summer’s collection of our Liberty fabric homewares!

The Royal Horticultural Society is the UK’s leading gardening charity and it aims to enrich everyone’s life through plants and make the UK a greener and more beautiful place. As well as hosting multiple shows and events throughout late Spring and Summer, the RHS also has five gardens and hundreds of partner gardens up and down the country, inspiring a passion for gardening and growing plants in all visitors. For more than two centuries the RHS has been the passionate force at the heart of horticulture, and today they inspire millions of people to get involved in gardening. Their website is packed full of information, advice, workshops, and campaigning and is a must-visit for anyone remotely green-fingered.

RHS Shows & Events

As a charity, the RHS want to inspire a passion for gardening, promote the value of gardens, demonstrate how gardening is good for us and explain the vital role that plants play. Plan a day out with the RHS and visit one of their eight seasonal shows for a fantastic way to delve into your own passion and come away inspired. Whether you have a large garden with plenty of opportunity or a small balcony which needs some innovative ideas, you will absolutely not be disappointed by the displays and inspiration at any of the RHS’ shows. And with lots shopping and food and drink options, the day will have a  perfect balance. We recommend gathering your friends and making a real day of it, and don't forget to visit Chelsea in Bloom, Chelsea’s prestigious annual floral art show and London’s largest free-to-attend festival of flowers.

RHS Gardens

If you aren't able to make it to an event or show, a great way to experience what the RHS offers is by visiting one of their beautiful gardens. Packed full of glorious inspiration and some of the largest plant collections in the world, their five gardens and 220 partner gardens all make for a fantastic day out. Enchanting through every season, you can enjoy swathes of bulbs and blossom in spring, unforgettable mixed borders and roses in summer, autumn’s rich and bountiful colours and frost-sparkled walks in winter. Our favourite time to visit is Spring and Summer, of course, mostly because in our opinion every day out is improved exponentially by a picnic! And there truly is no more natural home for our stunning Liberty fabric picnic blankets and baskets than a floral-filled garden which delights all the senses. Find a garden for your day out here.
