Celebrating 10 years of Coco & Wolf

This autumn we are celebrating 10 wonderful years of Coco & Wolf. We can barely believe it has been a decade of creating beautiful products using Liberty’s finest fabrics - the old adage of time flying when you’re having fun really couldn’t be any more true. We couldn’t let this milestone pass without acknowledging it so we are thrilled to announce that we are celebrating our anniversary with an exclusive bedding collection.

Pairing Prints

Liberty’s beautiful and iconic prints are a fundamental element of Coco & Wolf’s DNA and whilst they work wonderfully on their own, having the confidence to pair them is brilliantly bold and not as tricky as is often anticipated. It may feel like unchartered territory for most of us, but there’s a reason some of the most triumphant interiors schemes are a confident mix of colour and pattern. Today we’re sharing our top tips for successfully pairing prints to inspire either a room refresh or totally new scheme.

The Coco & Wolf Story

Coco & Wolf was born from an enduring love of Liberty fabrics by our founder, Amy. The former fashion buyer started designing and creating beautiful baby and children’s clothing while pregnant with her daughter in 2012, combining her experience, inspiration and love of Liberty fabrics she created a range of Tana Lawn cotton clothes which couldn’t be found in other retailers.

There’s no denying it, the world around us feels uncertain at the moment but if this year has taught us anything it’s to appreciate the small things. I’ve definitely found the change in seasons comforting; gone is the need to be endlessly productive and in its place is a quiet acceptance of hunkering down and enjoying time at home. Autumn is the perfect time for creating cosy ahead of the winter chill and the latest lockdown’s slower pace of life provides a great opportunity to not only create seasonal comfort in our homes but enjoy it, too.

Spring Planting

It’s hard not to be enchanted by autumn. The falling leaves, chilly mornings and low, golden sunshine, long and leisurely Sunday strolls complete with all the knitwear, not to mention crumbles! The only thing we're less enamoured with is how the garden is suddenly lacking colour and interest, thankfully, we have the promise of spring blooms!

It almost feels a little trite to be talking about the art of switching off so soon following a prolonged period of mandatory slow-ness for many of us but we suspect, if you're anything like us, the forced upon downtime was anything but relaxing. And now here we all are again, feeling anxious, consuming too much news, wondering what is around the corner. Switching off, relaxing and taking time for ourselves has become important than ever and in such a busy and loud world most of us are pretty bad at actually putting those things into practice. One of the best parts of Coco & Wolf is getting to work with some of the design industry's greats. From buyers with an eye for the best, most covetable pieces, through to photographers and stylists who know how to showcase our products and capture them effortlessly. We've been working with interior stylist, Emily Rickard to showcase each season's new collection since 2018 and with each collection the design she creates just gets better and better. As she is so incredibly talented and interesting it felt only right that to coincide with the launch of our latest collection, we introduce you to Emily, a fundamental part of the Coco & Wolf family.

New Products, Future Heirlooms

Coco & Wolf is absolutely not a throwaway brand and, as such, we don't have an influx of new product types every few weeks. Instead, we focus our time on designing pieces to be loved, cherished and handed down and making them to last. As seasons come and go new Liberty fabrics are used on our timeless designs which is always a pleasure. Then, every so often, we bring to life something entirely new, something designed and created in house and, most importantly, something which we think our beloved customers almost definitely can't be without. This season, our Nostalgic Collection brought with it new Coco & Wolf designs and lots of ruffles, and today we'd like to introduce you.

Taking inspiration from the C.S. Lewis classic, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, The Nostalgic Collection encourages your imagination to take you exploring the professor’s rambling, country home before climbing into a huge, heirloom filled wardrobe to hide from Mrs Macready. Only this isn’t a discovery of Narnia, but one of the magical world of Coco & Wolf and our luxury, Liberty fabric products.

Five Minutes with Coco & Wolf Studio Assistant, Emma

Each and every Coco & Wolf product has a story, one which begins with the design of the fabric and long continues once it arrives in your home. In between these points, whether it is a pillowcase, picnic blanket or dress, it is in the safe hands of a team who are fully immersed in everything we create. And our team are pretty special, they are at the heart of all we do which is why we felt it was so important to introduce them to you. Today, in our "Five Minutes with..." series we introduce you to our studio assistant, Emma.

Our Favourite Podcasts

I can’t lie, I was not an early adopter of podcasts. In fact, it was with reluctance that I listened to my very first one, absolutely certain that nothing would convince me that I needed them in my life. I don’t know why the reluctance, but 40 minutes of laughter later and I was a convert. Fast forward a couple of years and thank goodness podcasts are still all the rage because I love listening to them and I’m now an annoying advocate, asking everyone “do you like podcasts?”!

The Perfect Picnic

Sound the klaxon! With the summer solstice has come a heatwave and there’s only one way to enjoy food when the sun is shining - outside, under bright blue skies with a good old-fashioned picnic. Here at Coco & Wolf we know only too well how the charm of a picnic can quickly go downhill when the wine gets warm and the chocolate rice krispy cakes start melting in little warm hands. So, whilst we are purveyors of the perfect picnic we also believe in keeping things simple.

Nature Inspired Half Term Activities

As I write this, here in the UK it is half term and whilst our children are getting a well earned break from school work, parents all over the country are (mostly) breathing a sigh of relief as they’ve survived a term in their new-found role as teachers. The opportunity to keep our children safe at home is, of course, a privilege, but at times it has also been incredibly tough. Supporting our little people’s emotional wellbeing and nurturing their education in such uncertain times with very little preparation has certainly been an experience and so half term has been welcomed with very open arms! One of the highlights of our springtime home learning has been outdoor crafting and projects, and with the weather on our side (thank you sunshine!), I thought I would share some of our favourite nature inspired half term activities which can be done outside, around the garden table or out on a walk, with things you either already have, or can find with relative ease.

As most of us are at home with a little more time on our hands than usual it's the perfect opportunity for you to make a cup of tea, find your favourite comfy spot and get to know the team behind Coco & Wolf. After introducing you to our founder, Amy, a few weeks back, today you're able to get acquainted with our studio manager, Paula. The sewing fanatic's days are spent overseeing the seamless production of Coco & Wolf's infamous, beautiful heirloom products.

The Seasonal Shift

With the clocks changing, ground warming and bulbs coming to life, it feels like the perfect time to consider a seasonal shift in our homes. This doesn’t need to be a huge project, it could be a couple of quiet hours on a Sunday morning, or a few small focusses to add structure to otherwise groundhog day like days. It’s important to remember that this time doesn’t have to mark the reinvention of the wheel, whatever your headspace allows for right now, do that. If it doesn’t allow for anything, then so be it, and without guilt!

Each year the most important woman in your life will tell you she is perfectly content with the just the presence of her children - whether tiny ones at her feet or grown ones piled in for Sunday lunch, but mums are almost always the very last on their own list of priorities, so showing them you really care with a thoughtful gift feels extra special.
